This is the Insomnia Severity Index (ISI) — a validated, widely used 7-question screening tool. It takes about two minutes. Answer each question on a scale from 0 (no problem) to 4 (very severe), then select “Calculate my score” to see your result. A score of 15 or more suggests clinically significant insomnia that is likely to benefit from CBT-I.

The ISI is a recognised, validated tool for measuring the severity of insomnia. It contains 7 short questions and takes about 2 minutes to complete.

For each question, choose the answer that best fits the last two weeks, on a scale from 0 (no problem) to 4 (very severe). At the end, select “Calculate my score”.

Sub-threshold (mild) insomnia
15-21
Moderate insomnia
22-28
Severe insomnia
